Earlier this morning, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced the IRS deadline for FILING taxes has been extended to July 15th. Therefore, the deadline for both FILING federal tax returns and PAYING federal income taxes owed is now July 15th. This is in line with the recent announcement that California’s tax return filing and payment deadline was extended to July 15th.
In addition, the Federal and California 2020 estimated tax payments have been postponed to July 15th.
